Is there anyone else out there who simply can not believe that it's May already?
I've been thinking a lot lately about what it means to be a "deliberate mother". I came across that phrase a while back, on this blog, and although I loved it, it never really sank in. Then I found this website called "The Power of Moms". The little tag line says "A Gathering Place for Deliberate Mothers", and it got me thinking again.
It's almost certain that if you let life happen on accident, things probably won't go the way you hope they will. It's only when we live deliberately, on purpose, that we can create the kind of life experience that we want. Of course, that doesn't mean that we won't ever have trials or challenges, but we will be better equipped to deal with them.
I absolutely adore this idea. And I believe it applies to all of life, but right now, in my life, I'm focusing on my callings as wife and mother. My youngest will be starting Kindergarten this fall, and I have to make sure I'm ready to move into that chapter of my life.
Sunday is Mothers' Day, and I believe the most wonderful thing we can do for our own moms is to mother their grandchildren in the best way we can. We must mother them deliberately, not by accident.
I am so grateful for moms like Saren and April, who take the time to put together this website, and all that goes with it, for moms like me!
If you've never seen their site, check it out now!
And I am so grateful for my own mom, who is my very best friend in the world.
Happy Mothers' Day!
