Who's That Girl?

This afternoon I found a cassette tape in my van.  It was the recording of a show I was in years ago.  Fourteen years, actually.  I was 19 years old, performing professionally six days a week, making great money (for someone my age, for sure), and I was on top of the world.  I even had several guys at my command!  That is awesome.
Was.
After listening to the tape, I had an urge to come home and watch the whole show.  I have a not-fantastic recording of it on DVD, and Russell and I sat down and watched the whole thing.  You know what I came away with?

"Who IS that person?"

This one, who line danced on stage without a second thought...

This one, who sang "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to..."...

This one, who stuck balloons in her dress and impersonated Dolly Parton...

This one, who belted out "Independence Day" with confidence...

Not to mention this one, who had like the tiniest waste ever...
Who the heck is that?  I don't even know that person.  She is like some dream I had years ago, that I can only barely remember.

I miss her.

I totally remember listening to this tape we had of you singing when we would go on car trips. It was a bunch of country songs. You have a beautiful voice and I remember as a little girl belting it out along with you. "Maybe it was you, maybe it was me, but it sure felt right!"

That girl is lovely but no more so than the one who took her place. And not NEARLY the woman who is mother to your beautiful children. You STILL have the looks and the voice, even if not as tiny a waistline; the children are worth it, yes?!!! Can you please email me with Minnie's b-day and snail mail address: nancyjensen@missouristate.edu
THANKS! luv ya
