Early to Bed and Early to Rise...

I need to rethink my sleep patterns.  I seem to have a serious problem waking up in the morning, and I've always just said "I'm a night person".  Do you think that there really is such a thing, or do you just think it has to do more with attitude, planning and determination?  I pretty much think it's more about those three things, myself.

Now, I realize that there are people around who just naturally wake up early, but I think that's the exception, don't you?  I think most of us don't want to get up early in the morning.

As much as I really want to be "healthy, wealthy and wise", this is something that I fight with on a daily basis.  Every night when I write in my journal, or say my prayers, or lay down to go to sleep I think "Tomorrow I'm going to do it.  I'm going to get up, get going, and be happy and cheerful and ready for my kids to wake up."  Then you know what happens the next morning?

The alarm goes off.  I hit "snooze".  Three or four times!

All the time I'm doing my best to catch a few more minutes of sleep I'm thinking "I should get up".  I'm also thinking "I don't really HAVE to get up."  Both are true.

The question is: How do I get that first thought to win out over the second one, which seems to be so much louder and persistant?

I suppose the first thing would be to try to get to bed earlier.  The only thing is, I don't think the amount of sleep I get is the big problem, because I get anywhere from six to eight hours every night.  Maybe I need more?

Ah well.  I suppose I'll do it again tomorrow.
"After all, tomorrow is another day."
