Resolutions

It's about 11:00 pm on New Years Eve. My husband has gone out to his parents' house for the big party, but the kids and I had to skip out this year because something is wrong with my van. When we don't go out there, Russell just goes straight from work, since it's so much closer. So here I sit. Conner is asleep, and the other kids are laying on the floor in the Family Room with blankets and pillows, watching TV and just waiting for the clock to strike 12.
I am such an old lady. I came in here (my room) to go to bed.
But before I could get to the bed I got to thinking about my goals for this year. Of course, I want to lose weight. Duh. Beyond that, though, I want to do so many things. I have so many areas in my life that I want to improve. So many things to do. It can feel overwhelming sometimes.
So this year I've decided to start a new tradition with my family. I've decided to think of a word or phrase that describes my goals for the year. Maybe we'll have a family goal and individual goals. That sounds like a good idea.
Tomorrow, Russell will be at his parents' house, and I will fix some black eyed peas to go with my roast. The children and I will sit down to dinner and decide on our individual goals for the new year. In the meantime, I will decide on a word or phrase for our family. Maybe a set of words...
1.Study Diligently
2.Pray Earnestly
3.Serve Willingly

Yes, that'll do just fine.

Have a safe and wonderful New Year!
