Rise and Shine?

OK, here's the problem.See the time? It's not the current time, it's the time I got up this morning. Now, school doesn't start until 8:45 (crazy, huh?) but that's still insufficient time to do all that needs to be done. I can get the boys fed and out the door, but I can't say that it's done too cheerfully. It's a mad dash around the house "Eat! Are you done eating? Get dressed! GO GO GO!" It's like boot camp. Then I drop them off at school and say "Have a great day!" as I'm rushing them out of the car. Just about every day I say I'm going to get up earlier, get dressed BEFORE I get the kids up, and have plenty of time for them to have a happy, laid back, cheerful morning before they go to school. Doesn't that sound nice? So this is one of my weaknesses. Morning is not my friend. So, I'd like to know how you do it. Comment real quick and let me know when you get up and how much time it gives you before the kids are off to school.

Try, try again, right?

Hey Ashley, I looked up your blog finally! The earliest thing on our calendar these days is 9:00 church. One of the things that totally makes/breaks it for me is picking out my clothes the night before. For some reason it's always "hard" for me to decide what to wear to church, most days I don't care much, but I prefer to look presentable at church! Anyhow when my clothes are all set out the night before then I can just get out of bed and slip them on without having to be fully awake/aware yet. I definitely remember my mom having me do that as a kid too!

Hmm...I don't know if I have any advice for you. I have to hand it to you getting your kids fed, out the door, and to school on time. I think that you should be patting yourself on the back! Hip, Hip, Hooray for Ashley!!!! :)

I very often do breakfast in the car if needed. Cold cereal in bags, or honeybuns, or fruit. Pack it the night before just in case, and if you don't use it, no big deal. I am lucky that my kids are early risers, and a lot of the time they are ready by the time I get up. Teach your older kids to just do it, then you only have to worry abut the little ones!

For some reason it won't let me become a follower

I pretty much do what you do, too. It runs so much smoother when I get up before the kids, shower, and have breakfast ready for them. That only happens about once a week or so, though. :)

Love your blog!

Yipee! Look at all my comments! You guys are awesome. I know to some of you, this doesn't seem like very many comments, but it's the most I've ever had. Of course, I had to ask for them...
