Ike and dogs

Hurricanes really stink. We live just north of Dallas, and shouldn't see the worst of it, but we are expecting tons of rain and tropical storm force winds. I think that means like 35-74 miles an hour sustained winds. That's pretty strong. So, I went to Walmart and got some groceries, some water, and we're ready to stay home for a day or two.

I'm doing pretty well having Dallas gone. He was so miserable and so sad. I know that he's happy and healthy now. That makes me happy. My mom had a 17 year old Pomeranian that she had put down when Dallas was about 9 months old. She actually brought her home and buried her in the yard. We were there and Dallas was so bothered by it all. He just cried and was so stressed. We laughed, through our tears, that he was afraid we were going to put HIM in a box. So now we've decided that she was there waiting for him. They've been reunited and are friends again. That's happy.

I am getting a new puppy in a couple of weeks, after our trip. I didn't plan to get another one so soon, but the perfect one came along. He's actually 8 months old, which is good because Sinda (my 8 month old Keeshond-see below) is pretty rough still when she plays. I feared bringing a tiny puppy into her world. So, at 6 whole pounds, he's at least a tad more sturdy than a tiny one. I think we're going to name him Rocky. Rocky Rowe. Get it? Like Rocky Road? 'Cuz he's brown? Get it? Rad.

So, the world goes 'round and 'round.

Sinda, not the greatest pic, but she won't be still.

Rocky, simply adorable. (A Pomeranian, by the way)
