August

We are about 6 1/2 weeks from another magical family trip to Disney world. SO excited!! We're also about 2 1/2 weeks from the first day of the school year. 12 1/2 weeks from Halloween, 16 1/2 weeks from Thanksgiving, and 20 1/2 weeks from Christmas. You get the idea. So-basically what I'm saying is life is about to get fun. This is the hardest time of year for me. The idea of summer has passed and now it's just hot. And humid. That equals lots of sweat. The kids are bored and I even think THEY are ready to go back to school. Once school starts we have something exciting happening every month for a while so I love that. But for now we trudge our way through August. The only month of the year with no holiday. Poor August.

My book review: Loved it when I got through with it. There were a couple of parts in the middle that I wasn't crazy about, but when it all came together I loved it. Caution to you parents letting your young teens read it: You may want to preview the last book... Can't really say anything else without giving it away. As a mom, I would want my child to be about 15 or so before reading that last one. It gets a little...can't think of a good word. You're welcome to email me with questions if you like.

Last Tuesday Russell and I took the kids to Ripley's Believe it or Not, the Louis Tussuad's Wax Museum and the Ripley's Enchanted Mirror Maze. We had a blast!

You can sort of see in the picture below. See the plastic gloves? Those are to keep the mirrors perfectly clean. That means your children slam into them a lot which is hysterical.

See how it looks like I could walk right to Makenna and Russell in the picture below? Totally deceiving. Everywhere you see the red lights on the floor there may or may not be a mirror. Sometimes it looks like you could walk right to someone, when in reality they are around several corners. The mirrors are all angled, like the lights, so you really can't tell where you're looking. It is so fun to get lost and then try to find each other. You think you've found them when they're really still so lost. Fabulous!

Fun to be had, for sure.
