Sundays

It doesn't say much for us that our church doesn't start until 2:00 in the afternoon and we were still late. Only a minute or two, but late. Some Sundays just feel so good. Things just sort of go as they should. Church feels good, home feels good. Others, like today, just feel like any other day. I had to teach the Relief Society lesson today and that went fine. Mom and Dad invited us over for dinner tonight and we thought it might be fun to ride our bikes to their house. What a joke that turned out to be. I was riding, pulling a two-seat trailer with Conner and Caden in it. Russell rode with Makenna in a baby seat. Chandler did fine, and Carter pretty much whined and stopped every ten feet or so. It was about 140 degrees with about 128% humidity. Sweat was dripping down my back and that just gags me. Because Carter kept stopping, I had to keep stopping. Oh, and I learned after we got to mom and dads' that my trailer tires were flat. No wonder it was so hard. I actually walked the last block. My poor legs couldn't take the trauma anymore. Dinner was nice, and fortunately my dad has a truck. We loaded up and drove home. The kids were all pretty tired, but we didn't make them go to bed right away because we were too busy trying to watch "The Next Food Network Star". So at 10:00 we rushed them off to bed. No scripture, no prayer. We didn't even brush their teeth. I hate those kind of nights. After it's all over I feel like I've let them down. So now I sit here telling you about my failings. Tomorrow is another day, right? Thank you, Scarlett O'Hara. I figure about the time I get it all under control they'll be grown. Hope you've had a happy Sabbath. I tell my kids when they get out of the car at school "Have a great day, and if it's not one, make it one." They've got it memorized. I suppose I should take my own advice...

I love Next Food Network Star! We are hooked. Ashley, you have no idea how many nights my kids go to bed without a prayer or teeth brushed. Uncle Kirk would kill me if he knew!
