A Happy Day

Today Russell was off of work and we had a fun day. Makenna had ice-skating lessons this morning. After her lesson we thought it would be fun for the rest of us to skate for a little while. I don't know what happened, but Jace decided that wearing those ice skates was the most frightening thing he had ever done. Not scary like "monster" scary, but scary like truly unsure what was happening and really insecure. (That's a worse kind of scary) I let him sit on my foot and skated him around for a minute but it just didn't help much. So Russell took him off the ice and took off his skates. The three older boys did pretty well and Makenna "marches". Unfortunatey for me, I can't skate very long because I have what my best friend Stefani calls "Minnie Mouse" feet. They are completely flat and the pressure that ice skating puts on them is unbearable. So I quit and let Russell skate with the others. Conner stayed in his "scary" funk for like an hour. It was strange. So then we left the mall and went to a place called Gattitown. It's a pizza place with an arcade and different themed rooms. All-you-can-eat buffet. Yummy. We played there for a while and then headed home. I left and went to Michael's (love that store) and then to Target (love that store, too). Came home and Russell mowed the lawn. Then he pulled out his guitar and played around for a while. Just a fun day. Oh, yesterday I bought the 1983 Broadway version of "Sweeney Todd". My kids wanted to see the movie, but it's rated R so that's a big fat no. I bought the video of the show on Broadway and we loved it. It's starring Angela Lansbury and she is so fantastic. Love Broadway. It makes me want to sing again...
